Adverse Credit

Adverse Credit

If you have a damaged credit record, you might find that your mortgage application is rejected by a mainstream lender. These days, that is nothing to worry about, one in four people in the UK would be turned down by the main High Street lenders. Different lenders have different criteria for lending. Different lenders may see you more positively than others. So there’s no hard and fast rule of what’s considered bad credit. There are a number of lenders specialising in this sub-prime sector (also known as non-conforming or adverse credit). You may have to pay slightly higher interest rates, but a full range of fixed, capped, discounts, trackers and flexible mortgages should be available to you. There are mortgages available to you whether you have County Court Judgements (CCJ’s), defaults, missed mortgage payments or even if you are discharged bankrupt. Rates will obviously depend on your credit history.
